Braddock is struggling town in Pennsylvania. Once the hub for US Steel, it is an example of post-industrial America. Mayor John Futterman took over as mayor of the town in 2005 and is leading the revitalization of the town. Stories of development are often seen in places outside of the United States, this is an example of when development worked and the bottom found out. Futterman is an example of how local mobilization can lead to slow change.
The above video is from the Hulu series A Day in the Life. It's a good reminder that the arch of development is not one of finality, rather it is of change that brings to life the overused but appropriate word: resilience.
